Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights organizes the V Training Course for State Officials on the Inter-American System for the Protection of Human Rights from 20-24th July in Washington D.C.

(Florence, Italy | May 13, 2015)- Together with the Inter American Commission of Human Rights (IACHR), American University Washington College of Law (AU WCL) and the Inter-American Institute of Human Rights (IIDH), Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights will hold the 5th annual course on the Inter-American System for the Protection of Human Rights that will run in parallel to the 155th regular session of the Commission.

The course aims at instructing for the effective use of the human rights protection system by the state officials from Members States of the Organization of American States (OAS) and at deepening the knowledge of the procedure, standards and mechanisms of the Inter-American Commission and Court of Human Rights. In addition, this course presents the opportunity for state officials to exchange experiences and best practices and reinforce communication with the IACHR commissioners.

The training is targeted toward state officials from Ministries of Foreign Affairs and other Ministries that have been assigned to represent their States before international human rights bodies. Depending on availability, other state officials who are in charge of the promotion of human rights might be able to participate.

This is a one-week course and will be held entirely in Spanish.
